Thank you for your interest in joining our Board of Directors. Our Board is the guardian of the organization's mission. Board Members serve terms of three years, and collectively the Board of Directors is ultimately responsible for WAMOW's long-term well-being.
Oversees organization
Accountable for financial stewardship of WAMOW
Guards the mission of WAMOW
Determines policies including quality assurance
Participates in long-range planning process
Approves grant applications and annual budget
Hires Program Coordinator/Director/Director and delegates management
Does not interfere in operations
Fiduciary duties of care, loyalty and obedience to WAMOW and in carrying out Board role
Behave professionally and with courtesy and respect at all times
All Board Members are expected to abide by the following code of conduct:
Represent the interests of the organization and ensure it carries out its mission
Not use the organization or my service on this board for my own personal advantage or for the individual advantage of my friends or supporters
Keep confidential information confidential
Approach all Board issues with an open mind, prepared to make the best decision for the whole organization
Do nothing to violate the trust of those who elected me to the Board or those we serve
Never exercise authority as a board member except when acting in a meeting with the full Board or as delegated by the Board
